dried red chillis from the chilli infused oil on a saucer

Since many customers had enquired about a chilli oil, we are delighted to say we have a new addition to the shorkk family.

Having tasted this chilli infused oil in Lebanon on a previous trip, we felt that this was the perfect oil for adding a little warmth to dishes. When you’re in need of an emergency chilli, all you need do is delve into the bottle!

shorkk markets in may

We’ll be on the corner of Apsley Road in Bristol at Whiteladies Market on Saturday 11th May from 8.30am until 1pm. If you’ve never been before, there’s a small friendly community of market traders ready to offer you what a supermarket can’t!

For a bigger event, we’ll be at Portishead Marina Eats Festival on Sunday 26th May from 10am – 4pm. Over 60 stalls line the marina and harbour side, it’s a fun day out with plenty of tasty things to eat and buy. Bring your shopping bags and stock up on lots of interesting goodies.

seasonal shorkk

A bank holiday Monday means a slower start to the week and a for us a savoury breakfast. A plate of creamy labneh, a scone with some za’atar mixed with extra virgin olive oil. Perhaps even a small bowl of green cracked souri olives, maybe a tomato and a cucumber or two? Tempted? Have a look at the easy recipe for how to make labneh.

shorkk's donation for children in Shatila camp

On our recent trip to Lebanon we made our first visit to an NGO called Najdeh Association, based in Shatila camp, Beirut. They’re a secular organisation established in 1978 who support Palestinian women and children.

Thanks to our customers we were able to make a donation for the children who live in the camp.
