shorkk xmas bag of flavour
The shorkk xmas bag contains the most iconic Lebanese ingredients we import. We love watching customers’ faces as they sample Zejd’s sumac at the events we go to. Our customers tell us there is a huge difference with the supermarket variety of sumac they have in their cupboards. Roll a quail’s egg in sumac and you’ll soon see!

We had to add a packet of za’atar mix in the shorkk xmas bag. Produced by Bassatin Baanoub, this is the key ingredient in a za’atar manoushé in Lebanon. This fragrant blend is made of Origanum syriacum, sumac and sesame seeds. We scattered some on a cheesy sablé to make a deliciously moreish savoury biscuit. Just the thing as an aperitif with a glass of something chilled. What will you add the za’atar mix to?

a special gift
Our initiative started when we couldn’t find Lebanese EVOO in the UK during covid. Something that we had taken for granted when we lived in Lebanon became an ingredient of huge importance to us.
Gifting the shorkk xmas bag means you are supporting those whose livelihoods depend on this oil. Its beautiful tin makes a wonderful vase when you’ve finished it. We hope you enjoy Zejd’s extra virgin olive oil as much as we do.

Tied with ribbon for a bit of festive flair, the bag contains a card of a Lebanese larder “nemlieh” نملية so that you can write your message on the shelves!
