quality where quality is due!

A top quality pomegranate molasses, with no added sugar. Zejd’s pomegranate molasses is made from a sour variety of pomegranates which is slowly reduced to form the molasses. Balanced with a sweeter variety, a small amount adds a lot of tangy depth to your dishes.

Fancy a bit of zing in a blueberry compote to go with plain yoghurt and granola for breakfast? Is your salad dressing for a bulgur wheat salad needing some tanginess? Could that plain biscuit recipe do with an interesting kick? A small amount of Zejd’s pomegranate molasses to the rescue!

bring on the seasoning!

A Lebanese staple, we believe Bassatin Baanoub‘s za’atar mix is a cut above the rest. It’s made from Orignanum syriacum, sumac and sesame seeds; it adds intense aromatic flavour to so many things.

Scattered on a piece of salmon, the za’atar mix cooking under the grill will fill your kitchen with the aroma of a Lebanese mountain. For a Sunday brunch, why not have a go at a classic Lebanese flatbread: manoushé topped with za’atar mix. An easy way to make a bowl of soup into a feast: za’atar croutons! Fry up some leftover bread in a pan with some Zejd EVOO, once golden add a scattering of za’atar mix and enjoy!

a caffeine-free cuppa

Zejd’s olive leaf infusion is an alternative to traditional tea, offering a gentle way of keeping warm and hydrated: a bit of relaxation for mothers’ day! Not only caffeine-free, the leaves also contain an active compound called oleuropein.

A teaspoon of olive leaves left to infuse for 6-8 minutes makes a pale yellow liquid, with a mellow taste. When combined with saffron, this infusion also has anti-depressant properties (central image). Moreover, one teaspoon can be re-infused for up to 3 cups!
