Youssef Fares, owner producer of Zejd, is starting his olive harvest in Beino, north Lebanon next Monday. While rain is important to irrigate the souri olives after a very dry summer, the amount of rain has made handpicking the olives challenging. Luckily a week of dry weather is forecast. This year olive farmers are expecting much better yields than last year, a ray of hope amid the dismal news from Lebanon.

Top tip: Don't forget to use a tin opener to remove the top of your 500ml EVOO. You'll find a little pool of extra oil at the bottom! The tins wash up well, and make stunning vases for flowers.
