About mother’s day box
true tastes of Lebanon
Origanum syriacum
We’re so proud of working with Bassatin Baanoub, a farm 60km south of Beirut who produce some of the best za’atar mix in Lebanon. Small producers, they grow this native variety of oregano on terraces underneath avocado, bitter orange, almond and carob trees. Try our recipe for oregano, feta and olive ravioli for a Mother’s day treat.

souri olives
Our other producer supplies us with a pot of magic! Otherwise known as pomegranate tapenade, the key ingredient is Zejd souri black olives. A native variety to Lebanon, the olive has a “meaty” profile. The tapenade is made with locally grown capers too and the depth of flavour is enhanced by Zejd’s pomegranate molasses instead of anchovies. Ideal on toast but will transform a quick bowl of butter beans.

Rhus coriaria
Otherwise known as sumac, this crushed berry which grows wild in Beino, north Lebanon will be put to good use this summer. Scatte over anything that needs a bit of a lift. Why not try our recipe for herb and sumac soup?

gift box
The five ingredients come safely wrapped in hive (which can go in the compost) rather than bubble wrap. We include a map of Lebanon, and a gift card for your message. The box is wrapped with a ribbon and then wrapped in kraft paper for posting.
